ART FOR THE HEAD

The project is named “ART FOR THE HEAD” because this is my art, I just used a hat as my canvas. Inspired by my childhood love of jerseys and trading cards, I focused on creating a product experience that emulates the joy I felt as a kid when I got a new jersey or pack of cards. I’ve poured my emotions into this project and am driven by nothing but passion. I’ve spent countless hours focusing on the details and I am 1000% proud of the final product and overall experience I’ve created. Details are everything to me and I believe it shows. I am so excited to finally share my work with the world and I hope to see this project bring the excitement and joy to others that it has brought to me.

The Kobe Drop Details

The second release of the ART FOR THE HEAD project is 24 Kobe Hats to pay homage to Kobe Bean Bryant. The release date is August 24th, 2021. Kobe Bryant wore the numbers 8 and 24 during his career, thus August 24th (8/24) is unofficially known as Kobe Day.

Each hat is made from a combination of 2 Kobe Bryant Lakers jerseys deconstructed by hand, and hand-sewn onto a New Era 9TWENTY unstructured cap. Because they are cut and sewn by hand, no two hats are exactly the same. The bill of the hat has a custom sticker made specifically for this drop. The hat comes in a RAR branded silk carrying case with purple and gold Lakers coloring and is accompanied by a card of authenticity. The card of authenticity is made with 16 pt. premium cardstock and UV coating to give it the look and feel of a real trading card. The card was designed from scratch and includes hidden easter egg details to prevent fakes from being produced in the future. Each card is numbered out of 24. The Purple & Gold logo hats are numbered 1-12 and the Red White Blue logo hats are numbered 13-24. The hats are priced at $124.00 each and 81% of profits will be donated to the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation.

The Jordan Drop Details

The first release for my ART FOR THE HEAD project is 23 Jordan Hats to celebrate my Jordan Year. The release date is June 14th, 2021. 23 years earlier on June 14th, 1998, Michael Jordan hit the game-winning and series-clinching shot in Game 6 of the NBA Finals against the Utah Jazz. This win gave Jordan and the Bulls their sixth championship, but it was the final game Jordan ever played in a Bulls uniform.

Each hat is made from a Michael Jordan Bulls jersey deconstructed by hand, and hand-sewn onto a New Era 9TWENTY unstructured cap. Because they are cut and sewn by hand, no two hats are exactly the same. The bill of the hat has a custom sticker made specifically for this drop. The hat comes in a RAR branded silk carrying case with black and red Bulls coloring and is accompanied by a card of authenticity. The card of authenticity is made with 16 pt. premium cardstock and UV coating to give it the look and feel of a real trading card. The card was designed from scratch and includes hidden easter egg details to prevent fakes from being produced in the future. Each card is numbered out of 23 and includes the “Rookie Card” label to indicate the card/hat is from the first ever drop. The hats are priced at $123.00 each and 23% of profits will be donated to the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation.
